Are you a food lover who’s curious about Mexican history and culture?
For a lot of us, life for the past several months has been pretty dreary. Stuck at home much of the time, unable to travel, explore, and try new foods. Maybe you’ve been ordering from different restaurants, trying out new recipes, and watching travel shows, but staying at home is getting monotonous. If this were any other year, you’d be off traveling somewhere, enjoying sunshine and fresh air, exploring different places and learning about a different culture and trying lots of different foods.
I’m Suzanne Barbezat, a writer and tour guide based in Oaxaca, Mexico for over 20 years. When I came to Oaxaca for the first time in 1997, it completely blew my mind – there were so many sights, colors, sounds and flavors to explore. After getting to know it better for myself, I knew I had to share it with others.
If this were any other year, I’d have a calendar full of tours and be able to enjoy guiding visitors around Oaxaca, introducing them to all the delights it has to offer, which includes lots of food sampling at street stalls, in markets, and restaurants. Since travel is limited, for now, I’m missing the opportunity to share my favorite part of the world with curious travelers. So I’ve turned online to bring you a little taste of Mexico.
